English Translation:
"I have been searching for this release for a long time, and for many weeks I have been unable to find the album of the Italian project IANVA. At last I managed to buy the album and I have to say at once, that I am very impressed by the music contained on it. Unfortunately I did not have the opportunity to hear the other release in the Italians’ discography – the mini album “La Ballata Dell’ardito” – but nonetheless what is on the full length and debut album of IANVA is simply brilliant music that totally sucks you in.
Musically we have a capital mixture of neo-folk songs with a slight influence of rock and neo-classical elements, as well as apocalyptic pop – in the good sense of this word. It should be enough to listen to the third cut on “Dissobedisco!” – “Vittoria Mutilata” – an awesome, very melodious and almost hit-like song with a bit of melancholy, to notice the incredible mastery and talent of IANVA. At times one would almost say that a hit follows after hit, because this album is filled with such rhythmical and ear-catching compositions, which even after removing the disc from the disc player stay in the listener’s head for a long time.
Precisely this chartbusting quality, emanating as if from the songs of Spiritual Front, combined with a dose of the ambience of Ain Soph is the greatest characteristic of this release. Also interesting male and female vocals play an important role here, naturally in Italian in every piece. Otherwise the Italians’ music is based on acoustic, electric and bass guitars, as well as keyboards, accordion, percussion, and trumpet. As you see we have a small orchestra here.
“Dissobedisco!” creates a really great atmosphere – starting with energetic and melodious cuts, we can also find brilliant, atmospheric ballads, which also keep a high standard. I strongly recommend going through various mailorders and making an effort to obtain this album, because it is well worth it. If you like the music of earlier mentioned bands, IANVA will certainly fall into your tastes! I am enchanted by this album and suspect that many more people will be greatly impressed listening to “Dissobedisco!”
